NO Child Will Drown in Our Town(NCWDOT)
Congratulations! You are registering your child for the NCWDOT Swim Clinic. Your participation helps to ensure that we eliminate future generations of non-swimmers in our community.
This NCWDOT Swim Clinic will be held on Monday and Wednesday at 10:30am . This class is perfect for every child regardless of their current swimming ability.
All clinics are 30 minute sessions that meet on Monday and Wednesday for 3 weeks.(total of 6 classes)
Children will be tested and provided with their current swim level. We will work with each child to elevate their swim level by completion of this clinic.
Nile Swim Club Swim Levels-
Level 1-Catfish: Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.
Level 2:Nile Perch- Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills.
Level 3:Water Leopard, Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.
Children will prepared to move into a Level 4 class upon completion of this class
Level 4: Elephant-Snout fish Stroke Improvement: Kids will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills.
Level 5: Tigerfish Stroke Refinement: Guidance allows kids to refine their strokes and become more efficient swimmers. Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency, and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances. Swimmers will also have the option to participate in more advanced courses and our Nile Swim Team in 2022.
This is a free swim clinic and we need your commitment as parent to ensure your child attends each session. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class starts. If you are late or miss your session we cannot ensure the drown proofing and progress of the swimmer.
Upon your arrival, you will check in at Guest Services. Please arrive early to ensure your child gets to experience the entire class.
What you will need for the Clinic:
All swimmers must wear a proper swimsuit; Boys- Swim trunks (no underwear is to be worn under trunks). Girls- One piece Swim Suit. (No cut offs or basketball shorts, tee shirts or cover ups worn in the pool). No water shoes allowed in pool.
Bring a bag, towel and sunblock. A change of clothes is optional.
All participants will receive a free pair of goggles(if you have taken a previous clinic this season, please bring you goggles) and a swim cap which should be worn each day of the clinic. (no plastic bags or scarves can be worn in the pool). If you misplace your googles,we have goggles for sale at the pool.
Classes will take place rain or shine. If there is thunder or lightning classes may be delayed or postponed.
